(Posted April 25, 2012, at 10:12 a.m.) The Cedar Fire is burning in grass and brush in the Safford Ranger District on Coronado National Forest. 

Firefighters continue to make good progress with fire suppression. Structures are not in imminent danger, as the fire’s movement toward them has been stopped.

Start Date: April 23, reported by Safford resources on patrol

Size:  Fire is estimated to be 200 acres

Cause:  Lightning-caused

Percent Contained: 70%

·         Three hand crews: Ft Grant, Douglas and Ironwood

·         Water Tenders: 2

·         Air Attack: 1

·         Helicopters:  1

Structures Threatened: Approximately 20
