Milepost 6 Fire Contained; Cedar Fire Nears Containment 


(Posted on April 26, 2012 at 12:40 p.m.)  The Cedar Fire is estimated to be 207 acres and is approximately 90 percent contained.  The Milepost 6 Fire is estimated to be 6 acres and is 100 percent contained.   

Cedar Fire:

Summary:  Fire personnel are in the mop-up stage, and will continue to monitor.

Location:  Safford Ranger District, Coronado National Forest, approximately  three to five miles east of Klondyke, AZ.

Cause:  lightning-caused


Resources Assigned:

§  Firefighters:  1 20-person hand crew

§  Engines:  1

§  Miscellaneous Overhead 


Structures Threatened:  no structures are threatened.


Milepost 6  Fire:


Summary:   The fire was declared 100% contained at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. A crew will continue to monitor the site.

Location:  Santa Catalina Ranger District, Coronado National Forest, Redington Pass

Start Date:  April 25, 2012


Cause:  human-caused, under investigation
