(Posted May 3, 2012 at 7:45 a.m.) The Telegraph Fire is burning on Telegraph Mountain 2 miles south of Picketpost Mountain on the Tonto National Forest. It is 40 acres.

• Resources committed: 2 Hotshot crews (Payson and Globe Hotshots), 2 Engines, miscellaneous fire personnel, 1 Air attack plane, 3 Single engine air tankers, 3 Heavy air tankers, 1 Helicopter on order for tomorrow morning.
• Cause: Under investigation
• Properties threatened: None at this time

• Fuel: Desert grass and brush

Summary: Access to the area is difficult. Air tankers made several retardant drops to assist fire crews on the ground.
