School Canyon Fire at 1,200 Acres on Coronado National Forest 


(Posted May 8, 2012 at 4:40 p.m.) The School Canyon Fire is burning on the Sierra Vista Ranger District of the Coronado National Forest. It is approximately 1,200 acres.


The Lakeview Campground at Parker Canyon Lake has been evacuated.


Start Date: May 8, 2012, 9:21 a.m.

Cause: Human-caused

Resources Assigned:

Firefighters: 2 20-person crews

Engines: 12

Water Tankers: 4

Air Tankers: 6 (4 heavy, 2 single-engine air tankers)

Helicopters: 2 “sky crane” helitankers

Miscellaneous overhead

Structures Threatened: No structures are imminently threatened.
