U.S. Mail For Crown King Residents Available at Mayer Post Office

(Posted on May 15, 2012 at 4:55 p.m.)  Local authorities’ evacuation of Crown King, as well as road closures in the area in the wake of the Gladiator Fire are impacting mail service to customers in that community today.

All postal customers in Crown King who receive mail delivery at a Post Office Box at the Crown King General Store Contract Postal Unit may obtain their mail at the nearby Mayer Post Office, 12795 E. Central Ave., Mayer AZ 86333, until further notice.

Mayer Postmaster Vicki Ulrich said customers may pick their mail up from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturdays, until the evacuation is lifted.

Ulrich said evacuated customers should bring a picture ID to the Mayer Post Office to pick up their mail. Regular retail hours for the Mayer Post Office are weekdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” Ulrich said, “but we also know our customers understand we cannot access evacuated areas. We’re doing our best to make it as convenient as possible for our customers to obtain their mail.” Ulrich said customers with questions may call the Mayer Post Office at (928) 632-7333.
