Collins Fire Temporarily Closes Parker Canyon Lake 


(Posted May 22, 2012 at 10:25 a.m.) The Collins Fire is burning 3 miles north of Parker Canyon Lake on the Sierra Vista Ranger District of the Coronado National Forest. It is approximately 50 acres.


The Collins Fire is located at mile marker 6 on Highway 83.


Start Date: May 21, 2012


Cause: Human-caused, under investigation


Resources Assigned:

  • Firefighters: 4 crews
  • Engines: 8
  • Water Tenders: 2
  • Fixed-Wing Aircraft: 1 air attack platform, 1 lead plane, 3 air tankers
  • Helicopters: 2
  • Miscellaneous Overhead

Structures Threatened: No structures are threatened


Closures: Parker Canyon Lake is temporarily closed
