(Posted May 22, 2012 at 2:30 p.m.) The Collins Fire is burning 3 miles north of Parker Canyon Lake on the Sierra Vista Ranger District of the Coronado National Forest. It is approximately 60 acres.
The Collins Fire is located at mile marker 6 on Highway 83.

Cause: Human-caused, under investigation

Structures Threatened: No structures are threatened.
Closures: Parker Canyon Lake is temporarily closed.
Summary: Fire is burning in grass, brush and oak. Firefighters are making good progress with suppression efforts; containment is 50 percent. Resources will remain at the fire site due to a Red Flag warning for Wednesday.
