Ajax Fire Burning Southwest of Arivaca in the Coronado National Forest 


(Posted on June 10, 2012 at 6:35 p.m.)  The Ajax Fire is burning in the Nogales Ranger District of the Coronado National Forest (approximately 2 ½ miles southwest of Arivaca, AZ).  The fire is approximately 40 to 50 acres.


Start Date:  June 10, 2012


Cause:  human caused


Percent Contained:  will be available tomorrow


Resources Assigned:


§         Firefighters:  1 hotshot crew, 2 hand crews

§         Engines:  8

§         Water Tenders: 4

§         Helicopters:  2

§         Miscellaneous overhead

§         Total personnel:  approximately 100


Structures Lost:  no structures lost or threatened


Fire Behavior:  low to moderate fire behavior.  All forward movement of the fire has been stopped.
